Description: Japanese Late 20th Century (1989) lacquer tray by lacquer artist Isoi Seiji (born 1960). He was born in Takamatsu and studied lacquer with his father Isoi Masami (1926 - ). His father is a Living National Treasure 人間国宝 for kinma 蒟醤 (incised and filled with colored lacquers) lacquering technique; he received his designation in 1985.

Comes with tomobako 共箱 (original artist signed wooden storage box).

Signature on bottom of tray: 星 (Sei) for Seiji

Signature on inside lid of box: 磯井星児 (Isoi Seiji)

Measures: Length 18 3/4" x Width 6 1/4" x Height 1 1/2"
