Description: Japanese early 20th century bronze sparrow OKIMONO by HONMA TAKUSAI III (1868-1946). He was born in KANAI in SADO Island. His original name was HONMA OTOHACHI, son of HONMA GIHEI and apprentise to HONMA TAKUSAI II. HONMA TAKUSAI III is his GO name. HONMA TAKUSAI III was a specialist in bronze lost-wax casting with richly toned patina. The OKIMONO comes with TOMOBAKO, or original artist signed wooden storage box. (ranesu)
