Description: Japanese Showa 50 (1975 - April) lacquer box with mother-of-pearl shell inlay and maki-e 蒔絵 (gold lacquer) modernist design. By artist Nakayama Osamu 中山治.

Comes with tomobako 置物 (original artist signed wooden storage box).

Interior of tomobako lid is signed: 中山治作  Nakayama Osamu saku (work of Nakayama Osamu)
Also has red chop mark/seal: 中山治 (Nakayama Osamu)
Plus text: 昭和五十年四月吉日 (April Lucky Day 1975)
Exterior lid of tomobako: 螺鈿 蒔絵 小筥 raden makie kobako (mother-of-pearl inlaid lacquer small box).

Nakayama Osamu is a member of the Nihon Dentōkōgei-kai 日本伝統工芸会 (Japanese Traditional Crafts Association) and exhibited at the 1975 Nihon Dentō Kōgei-ten 日本伝統工芸展 (Japanese Traditional Crafts Exhibition).
