Name: Japanese Lacquered Lapis Lazuli Stone Bunchin - Crab Design by Okada Shihoh (1948-2022)

Description: Japanese lacquered natural lapis lazuli stone. The design is of a crab done in gold lacquer, in medium to high relief. There is mother-of-pearl shell inlay.
Created as a bunchin 文鎮 (calligraphy paper weight) but lovely as an okimono 置物 (objet d'art).

Created by artist Okada Shihoh 'Yuji' (1948-2022).

Comes with tomobako 共箱 (original artist signed wooden storage box).
