Japanese mid 20th century bamboo basket. The basket is of unique form starting with a square base with 4 corners. The mid section is cylindrical done with wide strips of bamboo and the handle is formed from the lip with additional bamboo branches added for variety. Unsigned. The basket measures 17" tall, with a square base of 7 1/2" by 7 1/2", a middle section with a 5 1/4" diameter and a top that is 6 1/4" across. |
