Description: |
Japanese 20th century OHI-ware tea bowl by Ohi Choraku (1902-1991). His art name was Tou Gen Sai. He was the 8th generation of Ohi potters, starting with Ohi Chozaimon (1631-1712) in the 17th century. The tea bowl has a beautiful dark brown glaze on the bottom sides and inner bowl with a lighter heavier glaze dripping down from the top edges. The deeply thrown bowl has a short foot. The bowl is stamped on the bottom by the artist. The bowl comes with TOMOBAKO, or original artist signed wooden storage box. The bowl also has TOMOGIRE, the artist stamped wrapping cloth. The bowl measures 2 3/4" tall and 4 7/8" in diameter. (kune) |
