| Description: |
Japanese 20th century earthenware SHINO tea bowl by Tuozo Higuchi (1887-1976). He was designated a regional cultural asset in 1972 and was the first in a three generational family of potters. He worked from his own kiln called Yoshin. The bowl is marked on the bottom by the artist. The deeply thrown bowl has an ivory colored crackle glaze on the inside and outside, with the ivory and terracotta colored glaze design on the sides. The bowl comes with TOMOBAKO, or original artist signed wooden storage box. The bowl measures 3" tall and 4 3/4" in diameter at the widest. (kadene) |
