Description: |
Japanese Heisei Period (Late 20th Century to Early 21st Century) kutani porcelain vase by Miyanishi Atsushi (born 1954).
Vase form has a long neck with fin-style ear-handles, and an incised vertical stripe design that allows the translucent glaze to pool and create color-depth shading.
Miyanishi studied with ceramic artist Kimura Yoshiro (born 1946) who is best known for his Aegean Sea Blue glaze. He has created a similar blue glaze on this piece.
The vase comes with tomobako (original artist signed wood storage box) and tomogire (original artist marked wrapping cloth).
