Description: |
Japanese early to mid 20th century hand blown clear glass plate by master glass maker, IWATA, TOSHICHI (1893 - 1980). A pioneer of Japanese art glass. He studied and graduated from Tokyo Geidai University, the prestigious art school. He was also an early teacher of fellow glass master, Fujita Kyohei. The plate has small clear bubbles running through the entire piece. The plate comes with TOMOBAKO, original artist signed wooden storage box. The inside of the box has the artist signature and stamp. The plate measures 12" diameter by 1 1/2" depth. (dorusu) |
