Description: |
Japanese early to mid 20th century glass vase by glass master IWATA TOSHICHI (1893 - 1980). The pioneer of Japanese art glass. Iwata graduated from Tokyo Geidai University, the prestigious art school. He was also a teacher of another glass master, FUJITA KYOHEI. His pieces are in the Metropolitan, the Corning Museum, the Shiseido Art House to name a few. The vase comes with TOMOBAKO, or original artist signed wooden storage box. The wonderful vase measures 15" tall by 7 3/4" wide and 7" deep. The vase has some very minute chips on the bottom edge. (kadene) |
