Name: JAPANESE EARLY 20TH CENTURY LARGE PURE SILVER VASE WITH PEONY DESIGN BY KANO SEIUN

Description: Japanese early 20th century large silver vase with peony design by metal artist KANO SEIUN. KANO SEIUN was born in Tokyo in 1871. He studied under Oshima Joun and was active in the Meiji, Taisho and Early Showa Periods. He exhibited at the Paris Exhibition in 1900 and the Taisho Exhibition in Tokyo in 1914. His work is in the collection of the Tokyo National Museum. The vase is signed SEIUN and also has JUNGIN, or pure silver stamped on the bottom. Comes with woode storage box. The vase measures 9 1/4" tall and 10 1/2" in diameter. (dorunesu)
