Description: Japanese Meiji Period iron pot. The pot is of simple form and design with a rounded shape and handle inserts in the natural shape of gnarled branches. The pot is stamped by the artist, NIPPON RYUBUN on the back and on the bottom. The handle is inlaid with silver branches of bamboo, plum blossoms, chrysanthemum and irises. The nob on the lid has inlaid bats on it. The iron pot measures 8 1/4" tall by 7" wide by 5 1/2" diameter. (dorusu)
