Name: JAPANESE 20TH CENTURY BRONZE VASE BY KANAOKA SOUKOU

Description: Japanese 20th century bronze vase by bronze artist KANAOKA, SOUKOU. Soukou was born in Kanazawa in 1910 and died in 1982. This particular vase was on exhibition at the 6th Dento Kougei Ten (Exhibition of Japanese Traditional Crafts) held in 1977. The vase still has the letter which states that the piece was successfully entered and selected for participation in this prestigious exhibition. Comes with TOMOBAKO, original wooden artist signed storage box. The TOMOBAKO has "SAHARI CHUBUN KABIN", meaning vase made of mixed copper and tin written on the top cover. And the inside says "KANAOKA SOUKOU" with stamp "SOUKOU". The vase measures 10" tall and 6 1/2" in diameter. (nodene)
