Name: JAPANESE MID 20TH CENTURY PAIR OF MODERN SHAPED LACQUER KOI AND LACQUER AND SHELL INLAY STAND

Description: Japanese mid 20th century pair of lacquer KOI and lacquer stand. The large carp is done in black lacquer and the smaller carp is done in red lacquer. The pair of carp are on a stand made of the pair. The stand is done in a greenish colored lacquer stand with shell inlaid side. Made by lacquer artist SUMIHIRO KINOSHITA (born 1931). The black carp measures 30" long, 5 1/4" tall and 3 1/4" deep. The red carp measures 26" long, 4 1/4" tall and 2 1/2" deep. (norasu)
