Description: Japanese mid 20th century (Showa 29 or 1954) hand blown plate by glass master IWATA TOSHICHI(1893 - 1980). A pioneer of Japanese art glass. He studied and graduated from Tokyo Geidai University, the prestigious art school. He was also an early teacher of fellow glass master, Fujita Kyohei. The plate has small clear bubbles running through the entire piece. The plate comes with TOMOBAKO, original artist signed wooden storage box. The inside of the box has the artist signature and stamp. The plate measures 13 1/4" in diameter and 1" tall. (dorasu)
